local.thesis.elsummary Η επιστήμη της ψυχολογίας έχει ασχοληθεί αρκετά με το άγχος και το στρες ως παράγοντες που επηρεάζουν ποικίλες πτυχές της ζωής ενός ατόμου (American Psychological Association, 2022). Η επίδραση του άγχους και του στρες στη διατροφική συμπεριφορά, καθώς επίσης και στα ανθρωπομετρικά χαρακτηριστικά στους πρωτοετείς φοιτητές επαγγελμάτων υγείας έχει διερευνηθεί σε περιορισμένο βαθμό. Οι πρωτοετείς φοιτητές, αντιμετωπίζουν διάφορες ψυχολογικές και ψυχοκοινωνικές αλλαγές που συνδέονται με την ανάπτυξη μιας αυτόνομης προσωπικής ζωής, καθώς απομακρύνονται από τη γονική καθοδήγηση και έρχονται αντιμέτωποι με πολλές απαιτήσεις (Mohammad et al., 2020). Αντιμετωπίζονται, πλέον ως ανεξάρτητοι νέοι ενήλικες και καλούνται να αντιμετωπίσουν τις ακαδημαϊκές και κοινωνικές απαιτήσεις, όπου συχνά έρχονται αντιμέτωποι με στρεσογόνες καταστάσεις. Σκοπός της παρούσας έρευνας αποτελεί η περαιτέρω διερεύνηση της πιθανής συσχέτισης μεταξύ του άγχους, του στρες, της διατροφικής συμπεριφοράς, των ανθρωπομετρικών και δημογραφικών χαρακτηριστικών των πρωτοετών φοιτητών επαγγελμάτων υγείας. Διεξήχθη μια περιγραφική συγχρονική μελέτη σε 50 πρωτοετής φοιτητές επαγγελμάτων υγείας, ηλικίας 18 έως 38 ετών του Μητροπολιτικού Κολλεγίου. Πραγματοποιήθηκε μέτρηση βάρους και ύψους για τον υπολογισμό του Δείκτη Μάζας Σώματος(ΔΜΣ), η κλίμακα DASS-21 για το άγχος και το στρες και το ερωτηματολόγιο AEBQ διατροφικής συμπεριφοράς ενηλίκων, το οποίο απαρτίζεται από τη διατροφική προσέγγιση και τη διατροφική αποφυγή. Η ανάλυση δεδομένων πραγματοποιήθηκε με βάση το SPSS Statistics v17 και το επίπεδο στατιστικής σημαντικότητας ορίστηκε στο 0,05. Σύμφωνα με τα ευρήματα της παρούσας μελέτης, το άγχος σχετίζεται άμεσα με τη διατροφική συμπεριφορά και δεν σχετίζεται με το ΔΜΣ, τα οποία επιβεβαιώνονται και σε άλλες μελέτες. Επίσης, παρατηρήθηκε θετική συσχέτιση μεταξύ του στρες και ορισμένων υποκατηγοριών της διατροφικής συμπεριφοράς. Ο ΔΜΣ δεν συσχετίστηκε με καμία από τις μεταβλητές. Συμπερασματικά, επιτακτική ανάγκη κρίνεται η διεξαγωγή περαιτέρω ερευνών, με σκοπό την ακριβή και σαφή αποτύπωση της παρούσας σχέσης και την ανάπτυξη στρατηγικών για τη βελτίωση της ψυχικής και κοινωνικής υγείας των πρωτοετών φοιτητών επαγγελμάτων υγείας.

local.thesis.ensummary The science of psychology has been dealing with anxiety and stress as factors that affect various aspects of a person's life (American Psychological Association, 2022). The effect of anxiety and stress on eating behavior as well as anthropometric characteristics in first-year health professions students has been investigated to a limited extent. First-year students treat various psychological and psychosocial changes associated with the development of an autonomous personal life, as they move away from parental guidance and they are facing many demands (Mohammad et al., 2020). They are now treated as independent young adults and they are called to face academic and social demands, where they are often faced with stressful situations. The purpose of this research is to further investigate the possible correlation between anxiety, stress, eating behavior, anthropometric and demographic characteristics of first-year health professions students. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in 50 first-year health professions students aged 18 to 38 years at Metropolitan College. Weight and height were measured to calculate Body Mass Index (BMI), the DASS-21 anxiety and stress scale, and the AEBQ adult eating behavior questionnaire, which consists of food approach and food avoidance. Data analysis was performed based on SPSS Statistics v17 and the level of statistical significance was at 0.05. According to the findings of the present study, stress is directly related to eating behavior and not related to BMI, which are also confirmed in other studies. Also, a positive correlation was observed between stress and certain subcategories of eating behavior. BMI was not associated with any of the variables. In conclusion, it is deemed imperative to carry out further research, with the aim of accurately and clearly capturing the present relationship and developing strategies to improve the mental and social health of first-year health professions students.
